Prototype Academy Westborough — Est. 2025

Giving Sports Back to the Kids

Youth sports has become all-or-nothing. Either your child goes all-in on the elite club pathway — high cost, travel, year-round pressure, adult-driven goals — or they settle for whatever's available locally. Most kids fall somewhere in between. And right now, that middle gets almost nothing.

We built that middle. Prototype Academy is professional coaching, strength & conditioning, and real athlete development — for every kid who wants to play, improve, and belong, whether or not they're chasing a scholarship. No travel. No pressure. Just great coaching, right here in Westborough.

Our Mission

Every Kid Deserves
Good Coaching.

Your child doesn't need to be on a college-track path to deserve real instruction, athletic development, and a positive team experience. But that's what the current youth sports system assumes — if you're not going elite, you get whatever's available.

Prototype Academy exists to change that. We combine professional soccer coaching with the strength & conditioning expertise of Prototype Training Systems — giving kids a place to grow, compete, and build confidence through sport, with no travel, no pressure, and no adult agenda driving the experience.

Your child should not have to be on a college-track path to receive quality coaching, athletic development, and a positive team experience. Prototype Academy gives local players a place to grow, compete, build confidence, and stay connected to sport.

Straight from the Field

My son has grown more as a player in one Prototype Academy season than in three years of club travel. The coaching is elite — and we didn't have to drive an hour each way to get it.

Academy Parent — Grades 5/6 Boys
2025–2026 Season

The S&C sessions at Prototype are unlike anything we've seen from a youth soccer program. The kids are fitter, more confident, and they love going. It's a complete program.

What I love most is that he's training with his Westborough teammates. They're building something together — and it's going to show when they get to high school.

Frequently Asked Questions

Prototype Academy Westborough is a competitive youth soccer program for grades 3–8, offered in partnership with Westborough Youth Soccer Association (WYSA). We combine professional soccer coaching with elite strength & conditioning at Prototype Training Systems, game analysis, and a player performance app — all in one in-town program.
Any player entering grades 3–8 in Fall 2026 who is part of (or interested in joining) the Westborough Youth Soccer community. Players do not need prior competitive soccer experience — we evaluate skill, attitude, and coachability. We welcome all Westborough players to come out and show us what they've got.
Tuition is $1,700 for the season (Fall 2026 + Spring 2027). This covers all soccer practices, weekly strength & conditioning at Prototype Training, game and player analysis, and access to the player performance app. There are no additional coaching fees or hidden add-ons. Payment details and plans will be provided upon acceptance to the team. If cost is a barrier, families can submit a confidential financial aid request here.
Recreational WYSA soccer focuses on participation and fun — which is valuable and still encouraged. Prototype Academy is the next level: competitive team selection, professional coaching, structured S&C training, and a more intense weekly commitment. It's designed for players who want to take their game seriously while staying in their community.
Players are selected through the WYSA evaluation process (May 18–27). Coaches assess each player on technical skill, game understanding, athleticism, attitude, and coachability. Roster spots are limited by team format: 12 for 3/4 grade (7v7), 15 for 5/6 grade (9v9), and 18 for 7/8 grade (11v11). All applicants will receive a decision following evaluations.
Players commit to two field practice sessions per week plus one strength & conditioning session at Prototype Training Systems — three sessions total. During the competitive season, there are also games and tournaments. We aim to keep the schedule manageable so players can still participate in school and other activities.
This is a top priority. In 2025–2026, we weren't able to fill girls teams — but we're committed to changing that. We are actively recruiting for girls teams at all three age groups (3/4, 5/6, 7/8) for Fall 2026. If you have a daughter who plays or wants to play, we strongly encourage you to apply now. The earlier we hear from you, the better our chances of building something great together.
Submitting an application does not guarantee a roster spot — selection is competitive. Players who are not selected are still part of the WYSA community and can continue in recreational soccer. We encourage all players to keep developing and try again. Our goal is to grow the program so more kids have access to this level of training over time.
Prototype Academy is part of the WYSA family. Your registration details and WYSA evaluation attendance will be coordinated as part of the application process. More details will be provided upon acceptance. Questions? Email us at [email protected].
Fill out the application form below. We'll collect your player and family information, soccer background, and which team you're applying for. After evaluations in May, coaching staff will review applications alongside evaluation results to finalize rosters. You'll hear back with a decision after the evaluation period closes.
